2017 COFHED Gala
We are so grateful for all of our friends and supporters who were able to join us last night at Hamline University. The night felt very special to be able to come together and celebrate this method of community engagement that truly has long term impact. To quote Glenn Smucker, one of our panelists, “It works.”
Thanks again to our great panelists for an enlightening discussion: Glenn Smucker, Vernande Joseph, Andy White, and Madeleine Avignon. And thanks to all who were a part of the event alongside of us. If you would like to look at pictures from the event you can check them out here or on Facebook.
What We Do
We engage in long-term community-led development in Southern Haiti. We build relationships while helping the community organize. We assist in identifying the community needs and assets. We give the opportunity for leadership development. We emphasize spiritual health, growth, and so much more.
Safe Drinking Water
Thanks to funding spearheaded by Duluth Harbortown Rotary Club, COFHED staff in Haiti teamed up with Les Cayes Rotary Club and other Haitian Rotary Club members, and community leaders and volunteers of the villages of Marc and Raymond to distribute 350 Sawyer water filter units to 350 families. As the heavy rains have already started in some areas of Camp-Perrin, safe drinking water will help fend off water-borne diseases such as cholera and other ailments. Please pray that more funding would be provided so that more families would benefit from a Sawyer water system in their homes.
